COOKE CITY NOTES.

The weather is as good as one could ask for; the streets are as dry as they ever were in July.

D.I. Donovan, an old resident of Livingston, is working his two teams every day hauling wood for those that intend staying in Cooke this winter.

The Henderson Mining and Smelting company have quite a force of men at work on their new mill that they are putting up on the Alice E mining property. They have part of the building up and enclosed, except the roof, for which they are waiting for iron. They have some of the machinery there now and every freight team brings more, which the mechanics are putting together as fact as possible.

Sam Jackson came up from Livingston the 21st and was shaking hands with his many friends. He looks as jolly and healthy as ever.

The Enterprise mine is looking better every foot they sink the shaft. C.W. Anderson, the manager and part owner, started the 22nd for Livingston.

At present there are four saloons, two stores, one hotel and two restaurants in camp and all doing a good business.

There isn’t a day but that some one of the miners report a rich strike in some of the numerous mines of Cooke. X.
