Historical Post- Week of October 16th

The Livingston Enterprise, October 16, 1886

A friend has handed us a copy of the “Cooke Daily Picnic.” The editor’s name does not appear, but as it is a pen and ink production, reproduced by the hectograph process, we are able to detect the penmanship of Dave Borum, justly celebrated as a “picnicker.” The paper apes the style of Chinese journals in that only one side bears reading matter. It contains numerous advertisements neatly arranged. Here is an item taken from the local column: “The handsomest young man in town can be found at the novelty store—Geo. Josephs, prop.”
