Historical Note - Week of May 10th
Fallon County Times, May 11, 1939
W.E. Stuart writes…that people are coming back to Silver Gate and Cooke City for the summer and the road crew is moving in; the Cooke road will open in a few days.
Fallon County Times, May 15, 1938
Douglas Vincelette was a dinner guest at Douthit’s Monday noon, leaving for Billings that afternoon, enroute to his home at Silver Gate, after spending several weeks in this locality visiting and doing some spring farming.
This summer the Museum will be unveiling a new addition to the Silver Gate exhibit, a replica of the town as it looked in circa 1937. The building replicas are being created by Precision Images/Precision Scale Models near Seattle in Northwest Washington. The landscape is being made here at the Museum.
