Historical Note - Week of September 11th

The New North-West, September 13, 1873

There are about 200 men in the neighborhood of Clark’s Fork prospecting. We hope for the most favorable results from this large expedition.

For those of you interested in the Miller tree, we are working on finding the best preservation method so it is not yet on display. If you happen to drop by, you may ask to see it. The tree has 125 rings and to the best of our current knowledge, was "born" in 1869, the year before Horn Miller fist came into the valley. It would grow for 51 years before Miller would be buried under its branches.
